How We Calculate Your Budget
Full transparency on every number we generate.
We use verified 2024–2025 hotel rates, Numbeo food & transport costs, and FIFA event data for each host city. An inflation multiplier of 18–35% is applied based on historical World Cup, Super Bowl, and Olympics pricing spikes. These are realistic planning estimates — actual prices depend on how far in advance you book.
The single largest expense in North America is accommodation. When travelling in a group of 2+, hotel and Airbnb room costs are shared across everyone. Our algorithm splits accommodation proportionally (max 2 per room) while keeping personal expenses — food, transport, tickets — constant per person.
Yes. For all 11 US host cities, an 18% mandatory tipping factor is built into the daily food and drink budget. Tipping is not optional in the United States. Canadian cities include 15%. Mexican cities do not include mandatory tipping as it is discretionary there.
Many fans will attend matches in different cities across the 3-country tournament. This add-on estimates the cost of one inter-city connecting flight — e.g. New York to Miami, or Toronto to Vancouver. Prices use current domestic airline averages with a 25% World Cup demand premium applied.
Mexico's three host cities have a significantly lower cost of living than US cities. A hotel that costs $195/night in New York costs $68/night in Mexico City. Food and transport are similarly 60–75% cheaper — making Mexico an outstanding value destination for World Cup fans.
